What are cad files? These are files generated by computer aided design software. These files can be used directly with rapid prototyping machines to produce the product with or without manipulation to conform to your specifications.
What are rapid prototype machines? These are machines that rapidly produce samples models or finished products created with a computer aided design software.
There are many examples of what cad files are on the other pages of this site. The lady in the picture below was created with a cad software called “Poser”, while the sign and store front were created with Rhinoceros software, then everything was rendered (made it look presentable) with the rendering software called Flamingo.
